Slow and steady, every single day.
Tutortle is a personal AI tutor for the time between lessons. For each subject, a small team of AI agents explains, checks your work and schedules your reviews, and every reply passes a safety check first.
In development. Closed beta in preparation.
Most learners don't stall in the lesson. They stall after it.
-
They forget
Without well-timed review, much of a new lesson fades within days, and the next lesson builds on gaps.
-
They lose the thread
A wrong step goes unnoticed, and every exercise after it gets harder for reasons nobody can see.
-
They stop
When progress feels invisible, motivation fades quietly, long before anyone thinks to ask.
How Tutortle works
Every message takes the same path. Tutoring and safety are separate systems, so the tutor can't switch the checks off.
- You write, or speak on a voice check-in.
- Screening checks your message for safety concerns and removes names, schools and contact details.
- Your tutor team drafts a reply.
- The safety check reads the reply, then lets it through, rewrites it, stops it, or holds it.
Then one of three outcomes:
- Shown to you.
- Held until a trained person has reviewed it. Nothing held is sent first.
- If you're in distress, tutoring stops, you're shown who to contact for help, and a person on our team is alerted straight away.
Your tutor team
One team for each subject you study, built from the same fixed template.
Planner
Sets up the subject: what to cover, how answers are marked, and when reviews fall.
Can't: change any agent's job or the safety rules.
Teller
Explains ideas step by step at your level and answers your questions.
Can't: pretend to be a person, or give medical or legal advice.
Grader
Marks your answers against the subject's rubric and explains what to fix, not just what's wrong.
Can't: skip the safety check. Its feedback is checked like any other reply.
Tracker
Keeps your progress record: which topics are solid or shaky, the mistakes worth revisiting, and when each review is due.
Can't: keep your conversations. It keeps the compact record; conversations are deleted on a fixed schedule.
Nudger
Checks in when a review is due, by message or, once it's ready, by a short voice check-in.
Can't: contact you outside your quiet hours or beyond your weekly number of check-ins.
The safety layer
Fixed and versioned. It sits outside every tutor team, and no agent can change it.
- Screening
- Reads each message you send for safety concerns and removes names, schools and contact details.
- Safety check
- Reads every reply before you see it, including feedback on your answers, check-ins and voice check-in scripts.
- Human review
- A trained person decides on anything the safety check holds.
What Tutortle remembers
Each hexagon on the turtle's shell is a topic. When you've mastered one, it fills in amber.
The tracker keeps a compact progress record for each subject: which topics are solid, which are shaky, the specific mistakes to come back to, and when each review is due. That record is Tutortle's long-term memory. Conversations themselves are deleted on a fixed schedule.
- Mastered
- Still in progress
Safe for every learner, careful enough for under-18s.
Safety isn't a feature we add later. It's the layer everything else runs inside.
-
Always clear it's an AI
Tutortle says it's an AI when you first meet it and whenever you ask. It never presents itself as a person or a friend.
-
Help comes first
If a learner mentions self-harm, abuse or danger, tutoring stops and they're shown who to contact for help.
-
No pressure tactics
Check-ins invite, they don't push. No streak guilt, no countdowns, no fake urgency.
-
Voice check-ins, carefully
Being built. They're off until you switch them on, follow a script the safety check approves before the call, and start by saying it's an AI.
-
Private by design
No ads and no selling data. We remove names, schools and contact details from what you write before it reaches the AI.
-
Your data, your call
Download or delete your data at any time.

Tutortle runs only on our own computers while it's in development, so there's no public demo. We'll walk you through the prototype on a short video call.
